I’ve had it up to here (imagine me flailing my hand, more or less parallel to the floor, but way above my head) with pulling all-nighters hunched over my 17-inch Macbook Pro like Quasimodo, if he were a freelancing graphic designer. So, I have made the biggest computer purchase in my entire life: I bought a brand spankin’ new, 27-inch iMac Retina, and you know what? I don’t know why I waited so long.
I spend my days working on an older Power Mac with a 27-inch standard display at work, but spent my nights on my wee Macbook. Now, I don’t ever want to stop staring at my luscious big monitor via comfortable posture.
This does mean that I have moved my freelancing back into the home office. While I no longer work at the kitchen table or on the easy chair in front of the TV, it doesn’t stop my fur-babies from trying to get my attention. Midas, my cat, still plops himself in my lap whenever it suits him – and Willow, my 50lb Bull Terrier has decided that she too deserves to sit in my lap while I’m working.
Oh well, I guess there’s room… I get to sit way back now 😉
It reminds me of a line from one of my favourite movies:
“It’s funny how the colours of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen”
I’ll let you figure that one out.
